Our list is far from comprehensive, but here are a few Theatrical Organizations and Association, and Local Theatre Listings we find indispensable. THEATRICAL ASSOCIATIONS
- The American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) is the national voice of community theatre, representing the interests of its members and over 7,000 theatres across the U.S. and with the armed forces overseas.
- The Educational Theatre Association is a professional organization for teachers of theatre and theatre professionals at all levels.
- Entertainment Services and Technology Association (ESTA) is a non-profit trade association representing the North American entertainment technology industry. Its members include dealers, manufacturers, reps, service and production companies, scenic houses, designers and consultants.
- The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Chartered in 1893, IATSE is a labor union representing over 80,000 members in entertainment and related industries throughout the UnitedStates and Canada.
- Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA), based in the UK, is a leading trade association representing 430 companies worldwide. PLASA publishes two periodicals, Lighting & Sound International and Lighting and Sound America.
- United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), established in 1960, with headquarters in Syracuse, New York, is an association of design, production, and technology professionals in the performing arts and entertainment industry.

- Lighting Dimensions/Entertainment Design A site for entertainment technology professionals working in theatre, film, television, clubs, concerts, theme parks, architectural lighting and more, this site is sponsored by Entertainment Design, Lighting Dimensions magazine, and the LDI Trade Show.
- Front of House Magazine The news magazine for live sound.
- Lighting & Sound America PLASA Media Inc's leading daily news service and a web reference for the entertainment technology industry worldwide.
- Projection, Lights & Staging News (PLSN) Timeless Communications - the premier media company for the live event production and theatrical installation industry - publishes Projection, Lights, & Staging News (projection, lighting, and staging industries), FRONT of HOUSE magazine (audio), and the annual Event Production Directory.
