It seems like manufacturer’s are upping prices a lot more frequently.

We’ve recently seen new pricing for LeMaitre, City Theatrical, Gator Cases, Musicorp, Rosco. Several companies are also adding surcharges for domestically manufactured rigging hardware.

Not to mention increasing shipping charges because of gas prices.

But, with the bad news about rising prices, also comes good news about new products!

City Theatrical has finally published a new catalog (the last catalog was dated 2005!). It features a lengthy section on their new award winning wireless DMX product line, SHoW DMX.

If you haven’t looked at their product line in a while, it’s worth it to spend a few minutes on their website. They really do live up to their slogan "Unique Lighting Accessories".

Did you know that we sell ukuleles and drum kits? How about guitar strings and metronomes? OK, we haven’t sold any yet, but we can! Musicorp, one of our distributors that we get inexpensive club lighting and effects from is also a national distributor for most of the major music manufacturers. Just keep in mind, if your glockenspiel is out of tune, our tech guys won’t be able to help you!

Gator Cases has been adding a ton of new cases to their catalog. If you don’t need a customized case for your gear, they will probably have what you’re looking for.

We are also happy to announce that our list of vendors that we are dealers for has expanded to include American DJ, along with Arriba Cases.

American DJ has been a leading manufacturer of low-cost club and DJ equipment for many years, and has been transitioning many of its products to LED technology.

With that in mind, we have added some American DJ Mega Panel LED fixtures to our rental inventory.

These fixtures have pretty decent output. Would I use them to light a cyc in a theatre? No. You can’t get a decent white light out of them and the beam spread isn’t that wide. Would I use them as accent lights to punch up a set piece or an event? Absolutely!

They can run off of as little as 3 DMX channels or as many as 26. Or they can run in different stand-alone modes, including sound activated!! (Perfect for you weekend basement raves! What? Doesn’t everyone do that?)
