Notice about Source Four Socket Replacements

I just received this notice from ETC regarding sockets:

Sylvania is no longer manufacturing parts for the old Source Four TP22 socket design which means we will no longer be able to supply individual Source Four socket wire leads (our part number W330-04) as a service item. The old TP22 was used until April, 2004. Customers will need to order the complete socket assembly (part number M706 for Source Four Pars and part number 7060B7019 for Source Fours & Source Four jr’s).

It was inevitable that Sylvania would eventually discontinue the manufacturing of parts for a socket they no longer carried. We want to make sure that you, the customers, understand that this was not an arbitrary decision on our part. While it costs more to purchase an entire new socket than just the individual parts, the new socket is a newer, well-tested, superior design and should last a lot longer.

If you still have some of the older fixtures, we do have the older sockets still in stock. We’ll keep them in stock until ETC stops selling them. The newer sockets may not fit in the older fixtures. The solution to that is to purchase and install a retrofit fit, which we have in stock. I’ve posted a page showing the different sockets and replacement options.
